Diablo Boat Works has over 35 years experience working with pleasure yachts and some small commercial vessels.
- Involved with all aspects of repair, renovation and maintenance of maritime vessels and equipment.
- Management experience as a yard foreman encompassing hauling and storage.
- Project supervisor included coordinating major renovation and repair projects of up to $200,000 while keeping to schedule and budget.
Woodworker — Traditional framing and planking, laminated joinery for carved hulls with cotton, irons decking and structural to finish work, complete renovation of vessels from back late 1800 and early 1900 up to now (shipwright) finish marine joinery interior and exterior
Systems Engineer — Winterization of vessels up 65 feet. Fabrication of bilge, potable, grey & waste water plumbing, tanks & discharge systems, AC/DC primary and secondary charging, storage & grounding wiring troubleshooting abilities with marine wiring & motors. Working understanding of outboards, gas & diesel engines.
Composite material specialist — Working with Gel-coat, polyester & epoxy resins & putties. Skills in custom matrix fabrication repair & modification of materials of fiberglass, Kevlar, Carbon fiber & polyurethane & wood cores.
Painter—Ranging from bright work to two part urethanes using brush and spray. Specializing in Enamels
Varnish and polyurethane top coats and repairs
Electronic installer— G.P.S., radar, depth sounder, Auto-pilot, other research systems; short wave and V.H.F. radio equipment installation; maintenance & repair of primary and data wiring systems to withstand the harshest maritime environments.
Transportation: Trailer boats to work yard and assist with delivery of vessels at sea.
